Follow the instructions after the WinImageExtractor appears - I assume that each of their files include this utility.c. First, you need to copy the .VXD files from the Win98 CD to the "C:\>Windows\system" folder. Don't know based on the error message if its a problem with my CD-ROM drive or Mcafee. What I did: Scandisk /autofix /surface As the surface scan started, I notice there are a couple of sectors marked as bad (I suspect this is where the VXD file resides).

i got it resolved. (removed compenents from network props). Its an HP Pavillion 8665C, haven't been having any problems with it. Once reported, our moderators will be notified and the post will be reviewed. Posts 11,078 Thanks for taking the time to post the info!

Now click on the word Edit at the top of the Registry Box that appears, then click on Find.6. I don't even have Mcafee enabled any longer (it may even have been uninstalled) cause I had my virus protection thru netzero at the time it went down. A case like this could easily cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Do this until you find all of the instances and you will be good.
