Error Java Installer Download Failed
I have plenty of computer common sense and a sharp eye for finding fixes to all my issues. I renamed those variables with a "_BAK" at the end (there are 2 system and 1 user) and this allowed the java install to complete successfully. Some sites recommend changing things in the Java Control Panel, but this does not appear to exist. I'm having trouble installing 64 bit java on my new Asus laptop running windows 7 x64. This resolved it. I've checked the Temp folder for the filesJreMSI.log and jusched.log can be found. Error: Java update did not complete Error code: 1603.

I thought it might be my antivirus/firewall (which shuouldent matter for the offline versions) so I turned them off for an installation attempt with no success. I edited out the # and attempted the install again and was successful.

You may use the Windows uninstaller for that or a third-party program such as Java Ra for that. Install the java. It looks like these came from the HP QuickTestPro install where java testing was enabled. Hope this works for you.

This resolved the 1603 install error for me, and allowed me to still install it via LMI.
